CHIANTI DOCG "Fattoria di Scannano" - Tuscany, Italy An excellent, fragrant wine with autumnal notes of the forest floor!! Whatever that means! This is made from 90% Sangiovese grapes. Chianti always has a nice light colour, yet with plenty of flavour and body and this is no exception. |

ALDRIDGE ESTATE Shiraz Merlot - South East Australia 2004 The combination of Shiraz and Merlot is very rare and one that I particularly like, so much so that whenever it arises I must have a look! The soft fruitiness of the Merlot balances well with the Shiraz's peppery and rich, full-bodied flavour - Great with red meats. |

ERRAZURIZ ESTATE SHIRAZ - Curicó Valley, Chile - 2006 As opposed to the Errazuriz Merlot, featured a couple of month's back, I had never had the Shiraz before, but was certainly not dis-appointed. Classic Shiraz with plenty of body, and characteristic peppery flavours. Enough to put hairs on your chest! |

POCO MAS CHARDONNAY - Casablanca Valley, Chile - 2006 If my memory serves me well, we had the reserva chardonnay from this lot a month or two back. This is clear proof that the is still great quality to be had from chardonnay at this price level - especially from Chile! |

KLIPPENKOP SAUVIGNON BLANC - South Africa South Africa is not really famed for it's Sauvignon Blanc, but in fact it rarely fails to deliver the goods. A very similar climate to the fashionable Kiwi whites, but you tend to get quite a bit more for your money. |

ORVIETO TRAPPOLINI - ITALY Orvieto is a classical Italian white wine - light and fruity. It is made from a blend of 5 different grapes. Orvieto is an ancient city in SW Italy with a most dramatic setting & incredible history. I must be getting old, but I was totally distracted by the info on the 'net, and am just going to book a holiday!! The wine's not bad either - Happy Easter. |
